XI. Child health activities:
1-
Community work at grass-root level: engaged in performing quality
socio-academic pediatric community
work through the platform of IAP and
through other avenues.
2- Telefilm on Polio Eradication: co-produced and acted in a 30-minute telefilm
based on the theme of polio
eradication, “Choti Si Bhool”with “Ray Films,
Noida” and distributed more than 300 CDs of the film to
pediatricians,
district, state and national health authorities, NGOs, WHO, and UNICEF. The
film was also shown
at different public meetings and gatherings like
exhibition, Melas, schools, etc.
3- Teleserials on public health: acted and helped in scripting of tele-serials
on public health like smoking in public
places, and female feticides named,
“Court Reporter”, which was telecasted on ‘Sadhna TV channel’ in May
and
June 2004.
4-
Interviews to TV News Channels on public child health issues: Interviews to
media on issues dogging local
pediatric population like polio, and epidemic
brain disease were given- Zee News (December 2002) , Sahara
News (August
2004), and India TV (November 2004).

Constantly bringing up issues affecting local pediatric population to the
knowledge of district, state and
national health authorities for appropriate

XII. Pediatric Research:
Seriously
engaged in the genuine research work in pediatric practice. Currently
involved in the investigation of recurring epidemics of mysterious disease
in and around western UP since 1997, and in KAP amongst pediatricians about
immunization in collaboration with Emory University, USA. .
